Abstract: The long Independence movement in India, come to an end with a victory in 1947. This year, India achieved its independence after about two hundred years of British hegemony. Like other states of India, Assam and all other North-East states took part in India’s Independent Movement. All these states played a considerable role in giving sovereignty to India. The North-Eastern people mark the noticeable contributions at every stage of the Independence struggle. Though many people played an essential role in the country’s independence movement, their names were always away from the limelight. So there is a necessity to spotlight the remarkable contribution of some unknown heroes from the northeast of India’s independent movement. This article especially deals with some unsung heroes who played a well-known role in India’s independent movement.
