Abstract: Disaster Management occupies an important place in this country's policy framework, the worst affected being the poor and the under-priviledged on account of such catastrophies. National Disaster Framework covers institutional mechanisms, disaster prevention strategy, early warning system, disaster mitigation, preparedness and response and human resource development. It is a multi-disciplinary approach and proactive approach. Our vision is to build a safer and secure India through sustained collective effort, synergy of national capacities and people's participation.
