The rapid evolution of digital payment systems has revolutionized the way consumers engage with financial transactions, especially in the wake of increasing smartphone penetration and internet accessibility. This study aims to analyze the impact of digital payment methods—such as UPI (Unified Payments Interface), mobile wallets, credit/debit cards, net banking, and Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) services—on consumer behavior in India. By exploring factors like convenience, security perceptions, transaction speed, and user incentives, the research investigates how digital payments influence purchasing patterns, spending frequency, and brand loyalty. Primary data through surveys and secondary insights from industry reports form the basis of this analysis. The findings reveal a significant shift toward UPI and mobile wallets due to their ease of use and widespread merchant adoption, while traditional methods like credit/debit cards and net banking show moderate preference. The study concludes that digital payments are not only transforming transactional habits but are also shaping consumer expectations, trust, and engagement with businesses, ultimately driving a more cashless and digitally inclusive economy.
