SmartCare HMS: Management System for Modern Healthcare

This paper presents an in depth comparative analysis of the features of a Hospital Management System (HMS) developed as part of an academic project against various existing research based hospital management systems. The objective is to evaluate the comprehensiveness, functionality, and technological advancements incorporated in different HMS solutions. The comparison is based on key features such as patient registration, appointment scheduling, billing, electronic medical records (EMR), staff and inventory management, analytics and modern integrations such as payment gateways and chat support. The study also discusses emerging trends like artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain integration, which have the potential to revolutionize healthcare management systems. Furthermore, it highlights implementation challenges and proposes enhancements for a future ready HMS framework.
