Abstract

Hindu mythology and religious themes have played a significant role in shaping South Asian comics and graphic novels. These works serve as a bridge between ancient religious texts and modern popular culture, adapting traditional narratives into contemporary visual storytelling. This paper explores how Hindu religious themes, deities, and epics have influenced South Asian comics, their impact on readers, and how they reinterpret traditional narratives to fit modern sensibilities. By analyzing key comics such as Amar Chitra Katha, Ramayan 3392 AD, and Devi, this paper examines how Hinduism continues to shape the graphic storytelling landscape in South Asia.
