Efficacy of Energy Technique Among Participants with Trapezitis in Healthcare Workers
Chronic neck pain, Cranio-Vertebral angle, Forward head posture, Trapezitis, Text neck.
Prolonged poor neck posture and repetitive stressful movements can lead to trapezitis, a painful condition in the neck. This condition is characterized by tightness in the posterior cervical and anterior thoracic regions, particularly affecting the upper trapezius, levator scapulae, and pectoral muscles. The study aimed to analyze the effect of muscle energy technique (MET) on healthcare workers with trapezitis. An experimental study was conducted on 40 participants who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. They underwent MET for 20 minutes per day, five days a week, for a total of two weeks. Post-treatment outcomes were assessed using the Neck Disability Index (NDI), Cranio-Vertebral Angle (CVA), and AI Posture Evaluation and Correction System (APECS). Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference in pre- and post-test values, showing reduced pain intensity, improved range of motion, and increased flexibility. The results indicate that MET effectively alleviates symptoms of trapezitis. Thus, incorporating MET into treatment plans for healthcare workers with trapezitis can be beneficial.
