Flipping as the Best Method to Handle the FYUGP Syllabus of English of University of Calicut

FYUGP syllabus of English language and literature at University of Calicut envisages a shift not only in the approach towards the subjects that the students choose to learn, but also in the way how academic transactions are to be conveyed. The programme imagines the learners to attain various skills that ensure better employability as aligned with the postulates of NEP 2020. Flipped classroom strategy is constructed on student centered pedagogical framework. Using this format, the educators can improve comprehension and critical engagement of the students in through flexible academic learning environment. The current paper examines the significance of flipped classroom in the context of the implementation of FYUGP syllabus in University of Calicut for the learners of English Language and Literature. The objectives of this paper include analysing the strategies of flipped classroom that makes it suitable to be used to convey the syllabus of English at University of Calicut and the challenges in its implementation.
