Abstract
Data security is paramount; therefore, implementing encryption, authentication, and continuous monitoring is essential to protect data integrity and confidentiality during the migration process. Furthermore, testing the migration in a controlled environment helps identify potential issues and mitigate risks. Engaging stakeholders throughout the process and providing training to staff can face Migrating data from legacy systems to the cloud is a strategic initiative that many organizations undertake to leverage the benefits of scalability, flexibility, and cost-efficiency offered by cloud computing. However, this process is fraught with challenges, including data security concerns, compatibility issues, and potential downtime during the migration. Successful migration requires a comprehensive strategy that addresses these challenges while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Key strategies include thorough planning and assessment of current systems, choosing the right migration approach, and ensuring robust data governance and security measures. Organizations should begin by conducting a detailed assessment of their existing legacy systems to understand the complexities and dependencies involved. This evaluation helps in choosing the most suitable migration strategy, such as rehosting, refactoring, re plate forming, or a hybrid approach. It's crucial to select the right cloud service provider that aligns with the organization's technical and business requirements.
