Abstract

This paper explores the evolving legal landscape surrounding cyberbullying and online harassment, emphasizing the increasing prevalence of these digital offenses due to the widespread use of social media and communication technologies. It critically analyzes the inadequacies of existing legal frameworks in addressing the unique nature of online abuse, especially in terms of jurisdiction, enforcement, and the balance between free speech and victim protection. The study highlights the challenges faced by law enforcement and judicial systems in adapting traditional legal doctrines to cyberspace. Furthermore, it examines international efforts and comparative legal approaches to combat cyberbullying, recommending the need for cohesive, updated legislation that aligns with technological advancements while safeguarding civil liberties.
