An In-Depth Examination Of Cyber Security

The Internet, a worldwide network of interconnected networks, facilitates the seamless transfer of data and information across various networks. The transfer of data and information between disparate networks has emerged as a significant concern in recent years due to security issues. A minority of individuals have also utilised the internet for illicit activities, such as engaging in fraudulent schemes and unlawfully gaining access to other individuals' networks. Cybercrimes refer to illicit activities that are linked to the internet. The terms "online banking" and "online shopping" are frequently mentioned in the news nowadays, reflecting the increasing popularity of these activities. Therefore, the concept of "Cyber Law" was established with the purpose of apprehending and imposing penalties on individuals involved in cybercrime. Cyber law, also referred to as the law of the internet, is a branch of law that specifically addresses issues relating to the Internet, cyberspace, and other associated legal subjects, including online privacy and security. This chapter is organised into sections to provide a concise overview of cybercrime, including the individuals responsible (hackers and crackers), the many types of cybercrimes, and the evolution of cyber legislation in India. The chapter provides an explanation of the functioning of these laws and outlines several preventive measures that can be implemented to combat this technologically advanced crime in India.
